Edna Parker, who was certified as the world's oldest person, died this week. She was 115. The new holder of the title of world's oldest person is Maria de Jesus of Portugal, who recently turned 115.The second-oldest person in the world now is Gertrude Baines (pictured), the daughter of former slaves, who is also the oldest person of African descent in the world. Baines is 114 and lives in a nursing facility in Los Angeles. When she voted for Obama this month, she became the subject of a Los Angeles Times video, featured here on KobreGuide.
